Hare Coursing |
||
|
Over the last couple of weeks the Rural Crime Team have received a few reports in relation to hare coursing in Warwickshire.
Hare coursing is illegal in the UK. It is when dogs are used to chase, catch and kill live hares with usually some form of gambling involved.
Coursing tends to start after harvest when fields are left without standing crops up to Spring time. Coursing is more likely to take place at dawn or dusk but it can also take place in broad daylight.
If you see an event taking place we would advise you not to approach the participants but to contact the police immediately on 999.
If it is safe to do so it would be helpful to pass on further information, such as: If the incident has already occurred and not ongoing then please do report it via 101 or on www.warwickshire.police.uk
Kind regards,
