We are appealing for information following a number of incidents of criminal damage within our community which we believe may be racially motivated

The victims are hardworking members of our community who have every right to feel safe in their own homes. In several of these incidents, children were present inside the properties at the time the damage was caused, making the impact of these actions even more concerning

We will not tolerate behaviour that aims to intimidate, target, or divide members of our community because of their race or ethnicity. Everybody deserves to live free from fear, regardless of their background

Our enquiries suggest that the suspects are making their escape on foot and/or using electric bikes. We believe those responsible are likely to live local to Shotton. The offenders have also been using a hammer to cause damage to properties

We are asking residents to remain vigilant and check any CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage that may assist our investigation. We are particularly interested in identifying individuals seen travelling on foot or electric bikes in the area around the times of these incidents

Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital. If you have witnessed anything suspicious, have relevant footage, or know who may be responsible, please come forward
