                                     🚜🚔 Rural Crime Team Weekly Update

Our officers have been working hard across Dorset and beyond to tackle rural crime, protect communities, and recover stolen property.

✅ A vehicle stolen from Bedford was recovered displaying false registration plates. A male was arrested in connection with the theft and driving offences. Further checks revealed he was wanted for violence and weapons offences, and a quantity of drugs was subsequently located during a search of his address. He has been charged with disqualified driving, while other matters remain under investigation.

✅ A multi-force cross-border operation was conducted alongside Avon & Somerset Police, Wiltshire Police, Hampshire Police and Thames Valley Police. The operation focused on targeting offenders involved in rural crime, patrolling hotspot locations, and engaging with rural communities.

✅ Intelligence shared by the Rural Crime Team with Wincanton Neighbourhood Team led to the swift recovery of a stolen KTM motorbike in Wincanton. The bike was found displaying false plates.

✅ Officers recovered several thousand pounds worth of stolen plant machinery parts in East Dorset. The parts belonged to a company carrying out essential work within our rural communities.

✅ A vehicle believed to have been involved in the theft of a fridge trailer was located by officers on patrol. Enquiries continue into offences relating to insurance and false identity details.

🤝 Community engagement and crime prevention remain a key focus:

• Community Contact Point held in Alderholt.
• Crime prevention visits to equine yards, including security marking of tack.
• Crime prevention visits following the theft of a quad bike.
