Community Information Regarding Planned Gathering

Dear Residents,

We would like to make residents aware that a "block party" has been advertised to take place the weekend of the 19th September within the Thamesmead East ward.

It is anticipated that attendees are considering bringing sound systems and BBQs. Based on previous issues in the area, there is potential for this gathering to result in noise nuisance, anti-social behaviour and disruption to local residents.

In light of the ongoing concerns at this location, we strongly advise anyone not to attend the event. Reducing attendance will assist us and our partner agencies in managing any issues that may arise and help minimise disruption to the wider community. 

Local officers will be conducting patrols in the area throughout the weekend and will take appropriate and robust action where necessary. Further policing powers under the Anti-social behaviour, crime an policing act 2014 will be considered to deal with any anti social behaviour in the area.
