Local Plain Clothes Patrol Results in Arrest and Action Against Shoplifting

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers have been out conducting plain clothes patrols across the Kentish Town North and Kentish Town South wards today, focusing on tackling shoplifting and retail crime.

As a result of proactive patrols, officers arrested an individual after they were found to have stolen approximately £90 worth of toiletries from Sainsbury's on Fortess Road. The individual was taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.

Officers also carried out two stop and searches of individuals suspected of involvement in shoplifting offences. During one of these incidents, officers witnessed an individual helping themselves to £23 worth of snacks and drinks from the Co-op on Kentish Town Road, NW5 without making payment. The individual admitted the offence and was dealt with by way of a Community Resolution.

These outcomes demonstrate our continued commitment to tackling shoplifting, supporting local businesses and addressing the concerns raised by residents regarding crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
