Male Charged on Suspicion of Drink Driving

In the early hours of Saturday 12th September 2026 whilst our response officers were on mobile patrols in the Bakewell area a vehicle overshot a junction at Rutland Square, Bakewell, narrowly missing a collision with the patrol car.  The driver was spoken to by officers and failed a roadside breath test.  He was arrested on suspicion of the offence of Driving a Motor Vehicle, on a Road, with alcohol levels above the legal limit contrary to S5 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.  

Daniel Roberts, 21, of Lodge Farm Close, Walton, Chesterfield was later charged on suspicion of the offence and will appear in court 1st October 2026.
