Supporting Our Communities During Rosh Hashanah

This weekend marks the beginning of the High Holy Days in the Jewish calendar, with Rosh Hashanah commencing on Friday 11 September.

As the Jewish community observes Rosh Hashanah, Greater Manchester Police will be providing additional patrols within Jewish neighbourhoods, working alongside the Community Security Trust (CST) to enhance visibility and reassurance throughout the period.

The CST is a charity dedicated to protecting British Jews from terrorism, antisemitism and related threats. We have continued to develop our policing approach for these significant religious events and have worked closely with local residents, community leaders and businesses to help ensure that everyone can celebrate safely and with confidence.

Enhanced policing plans are in place and will remain under continual review throughout the High Holy Days to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all those taking part. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with our officers who will be present in the community.
