Criminals may call uninvited at your door offering services such as gardening, roofing, driveway repairs, tree work, or household maintenance, recently they have been offering household goods at an inflated price, claiming to be on a rehabilitation programme. They often pressure residents into agreeing to work immediately, charge excessive prices, demand cash payments, or carry out poor-quality work. How to protect yourself:Report suspicious activityIf you are approached by a suspicious doorstep seller or believe someone is operating fraudulently, please report it to North Yorkshire Police by: If fraud has already occurred, you can also report it to Report Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or via their website.
