Hello all, Since my last update on 4th September I have been busy with various incidents across my wards. I held a surgery last Friday where it was good to speak to residents and discuss their concerns, and I will be publishing some more upcoming dates shortly. Here are some of the things I have been doing since my last post: I was in St Nicholas-at-Wade conducting rural patrolling when my attention was drawn to a suspicious vehicle. This vehicle was stopped and detained for a drugs search. This search located various pots of cannabis and the male was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and drug possession. He was also found to be wanted for serious domestic offences and was charged and remanded to court by our investigation teams. Whilst on foot patrol, I attended an address to carry out some enquiries and located a male hiding within who was wanted for recall to prison and had been for some weeks. He was arrested and taken to custody. I have attended in the region of twenty calls over the last ten days to support colleagues on response teams. This has covered a variety of incident types such as concerns for welfare, domestics, assaults and road traffic matters. Proactive patrolling continues to be a focus for me, and as well as the results above I have carried out four separate stop and searches on individuals. This has led to the seizure of drugs, and a shoplifter detained with stolen goods having just left a local store. On 11th September, I attended a report of criminal damage where the suspect had made off prior to police arriving. Having completed evidence capture with the victim, I was able to work alongside CCTV operators to track down the male and take him into custody.I have been liaising with residents and colleagues in the Rural Task Force to organise a community event aimed at benefiting those who live in rural areas. Residents will have the opportunity to have their tools and machinery ‘tagged’ with a unique stamp which can act as a deterrent for thieves and allow stolen property to be identified and recovered to their rightful owner. I’m in the process of finalising details for this event, please watch this space for future updates and confirmation of date/location!Warm regards, |
