KMWA Community Cricket Day 2026

On Saturday 6 September, officers from the Medway Neighbourhood Policing Team were pleased to attend the Kent Muslim Welfare Association and Kent Afghan Association Community Cricket Day, alongside colleagues from SECAMB and Medway Independent Advisory Group (IAG) Chair, Sophie Wallington.

The event brought together people from across Medway for a fantastic day of cricket, food, entertainment, and community engagement. It was wonderful to see residents from a variety of backgrounds coming together to enjoy the day, build new connections, and celebrate the diversity of our local communities.

Throughout the event, officers spoke with residents, shared crime prevention advice, and promoted My Community Voice, helping attendees stay connected with local policing updates and community safety information. We also registered and tagged mobile phones using the Secure Asset Registry, providing residents with an extra layer of protection should their devices be lost or stolen.

We were also pleased to work alongside community leaders and partner organisations. Sophie Wallington spoke with attendees about the important role of the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) and how local residents can help shape policing by becoming involved.
