Women's Rough Sleeping Census in Ealing

Dear Residents, 

From 21 September to 27 September, organisations across Ealing will be taking part in the Women's Rough Sleeping Census. The census aims to improve understanding of women experiencing rough sleeping or hidden forms of homelessness, helping local agencies better identify needs and develop future support services.

Residents may see staff from local support organisations, including Acton Homeless Concern, engaging with individuals across the borough during this period. This activity is part of a coordinated effort to reach people who may not be visible through traditional rough sleeping counts, such as those who are sofa surfing, staying in unsafe accommodation, living in temporary arrangements, or moving between insecure locations.

The census is open to women aged 18 and over who have experienced rough sleeping or hidden homelessness between 1 July and 30 September. Participation is entirely voluntary and surveys can be completed in a variety of ways, including face-to-face, by phone, online or on paper.

We are sharing this information to raise awareness and reassure residents who may notice increased outreach activity during this week. The work is being carried out by trained support services to better understand homelessness within our community and improve future provision for those most in need.
