knives Seized by Bromsgrove Police |

Officers from Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team recently attended a property alongside local housing officers whilst a house clearance was being carried out. During the clearance, several bladed weapons were discovered, including a large knife and a sword-style weapon. Officers attended and safely seized the items to ensure they could not fall into the wrong hands or pose a risk to the public. Although these items were found during a house clearance and were not being carried in public, the discovery serves as an important reminder of the dangers associated with weapons. Weapons kept in properties can be stolen, accessed by children, misused during disputes, or end up being used in criminality. What may seem like an old item stored away can quickly become a serious risk if it falls into the wrong hands. Bromsgrove Police will continue to work closely with housing providers, partner agencies and our communities to identify potential risks and keep our neighbourhoods safe. If you come across weapons during a house clearance, property inspection or while clearing out a family member's belongings, please do not handle them unnecessarily. Contact police on 101 for advice. Always call 999 if there is an immediate risk to safety.
