Operation Fishing: Community Update |
||
|
I feel it is appropriate to provide an update to the public regarding the ongoing work being undertaken as part of Operation Fishing.
Since the launch of the operation, officers have already spent a significant amount of time in and around Tadcaster Bus Station, engaging with passengers, staff, local businesses and young people who frequent the area. Whilst I am aware that issues continue to occur, the feedback received so far has been positive, with many people commenting on the increased police presence and the reassurance that it brings. Officers will continue to work closely with all parties to address concerns and identify opportunities for further action.
As a result of our patrols and engagement activity, several individuals have come to police attention. We are now working closely with partner agencies to formally identify those involved and to engage with them accordingly, ensuring that the most appropriate interventions and enforcement options are considered where necessary.
Whilst I have no doubt that this remains the early stages of the operation, I remain encouraged by the progress that has been made so far. However, the success of Operation Fishing relies heavily upon information provided by the community. I would therefore continue to ask for your cooperation in reporting any incidents of crime or anti-social behaviour that you witness. Every report helps us build a clearer picture of the issues affecting the area and allows us to direct resources where they are needed most.
Finally, I appreciate that not everyone uses social media or online community messaging services. As such, please feel free to share this update with your family, friends and members of the local community to help ensure that as many people as possible are aware of the work being undertaken.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we work together to make Tadcaster a safer place for everyone. | ||
