Motorbike/Moped crime alert - Paddock Wood |
||
|
Dear Residents.
If you are, or know a motorbike/moped owner, this message is intended to be for you. Over the last week, we have received 3 reports of suspicious incidents linked to motorbike/moped thefts or attempts being made to steal them from the Paddock Wood area. Whilst we are aware and are actively working on these reports, please take care if you are the owner, or know someone that owns a motorbike or moped.
Whilst the offences have taken place during the day, the majority of reports have been made during the hours of darkness. Descriptions have been given of the suspects of: 4 males, dressed mostly in dark clothing, wearing balaclava's and usually riding two motorbikes/a motorbike and a moped.
I cannot express how important it is that anything that you think may be suspicious is reported to Kent Police. If you believe that there is a crime in progress, please call 999. In the event that you wish to report anything that is a non-emergency, or if you have any information that you believe could be relevant, please ensure you contact Kent Police via 101, or the Kent Police Online Reporting tool/Live Chat via the following link: https://www.kent.police.uk/ro/report.
Whilst the full list of advice around securing your vehicle can be found at the following website: https://www.kent.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/theft-motorcycles-scooters/, please follow these steps to try and prevent becoming a victim of these offences:
No shed or garage? Park in the safest place you can (somewhere lit and covered by CCTV).
Kind regards, PC Connor Geelan & PC Louis Scudder. Beat Officer's - Paddock Wood. | ||
