Hello, ✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅ This week’s efforts saw 4 people gracing the Custody Suites at CHACE AVENUE POLICE STATION courtesy of St Michaels Team 2. The arrests being a shop theft and recall to prison We have continued with our Targeted Guardian Patrols in LADY HERBERTS GARDENS, FAR GOSFORD STREET AND SPON END. These patrols are conducted by uniformed and non-uniformed officers. We are able to patrols local hot spots without being instantly recognised, actively looking to deter criminality and identify person/s looking to buy and sell drugs within communities. Personal Safety & Robbery Crime Prevention Advice Recent reports show an increase in personal robberies in the area, particularly involving mobile phones and chain.Thieves are often targeting people who are distracted, using devices openly, or walking alone. The following guidance is designed to help you stay alert, stay safe, and reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.Keep Your Devices Out of Sight Avoid using your mobile phone or wearing visible EarPods/headphones while walking, especially in busy areas or near transport hubs. Keep phones in zipped pockets or bags when not in use. If you need to check your phone, step inside a shop or a safe, well lit area.Stay Aware of Your Surroundings Be mindful of anyone approaching you on foot or on a bike/e scooter. Avoid walking while distracted, thieves often look for people who are unaware of what’s happening around them. Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, move to a busier area.Reduce Distractions Secure Your BelongingsUse bags that can be worn across the body and kept in front of you. Avoid displaying expensive jewellery, watches, or tech items.Be Alert to Moped & Bike Snatches Thieves may approach quickly on bikes or mopeds. Stand away from the kerb when using your phone. Hold your device firmly and close to your body.If You Feel Unsafe Move towards a busy shop, café, or public place. Approach a member of staff, security, or police officer for assistance. In an emergency, always call 999. For non emergencies, report incidents via 101 or online at the police website.
