Edenthorpe - Too many people and not enough seats! |

Doncaster East NPT Officers stopped this van travelling long Thorne Road, Edenthorpe last week. Officers noticed the van was being driven by a male, but the vehicle only had a female named on the insurance. The van was stopped and after a few checks it was established the male was not insured to drive the vehicle. He also did not hold a driving licence. The vehicle was clearly designed to carry two persons, having two front seats and an open storage space to the rear. Imagine the Officers surprise when they saw a small child sat on the floor in the back, surrounded by work tools! Quite worryingly the driver stated he was making the journey to collect another person, which raises the question….. So where exactly were they going to sit? The driver has been reported on summons for all the offences and his vehicle was seized from the roadside. I think it goes without saying that when traveling in a vehicle, all passengers must have a seat and be correctly secured with a seat belt.
