Bike Marking Event Success, Swains Lane, 18/09/2026 |

Dear Highgate Residents,
Today, as part of our Day of Action initiative focusing on ward priorities around theft, we held a bike marking event at Swains Lane, N6.
We were delighted by the fantastic turnout and the opportunity to speak with so many residents about the issues that matter most to them within the community. During the event, we successfully security marked 15 bicycles and registered them on the BikeRegister database.
Bike marking is a simple but effective crime prevention measure. Security marking and registration help deter theft by making bicycles more difficult for offenders to sell and easier for police to identify and return to their rightful owners if recovered. It also provides officers with a reliable way to trace ownership and support investigations into stolen property.
Thank you to everyone who attended and took the time to engage with us. We know that many people were interested in having their bikes marked but were unable to bring them along today.
Please keep an eye out for future updates, as we are already planning further bike marking events and there will be more opportunities to get your bicycle security marked and registered.
Together, we can continue working to reduce theft and keep our community safer.
Your sincerely,
Highgate SNT - PC AMADO, PC HAMMER-BAILEY & PCSO DEMIRCAN
