Cultural Quarter Weekly Round-Up!
Another busy set completed by the team, so here’s just some of what we’ve been getting up to
Illegal vapes, cigarettes and drugs seized
PC Carpenter and PC Stewart joined Trading Standards for visits to several shops. A number of illegal items were seized, along with suspected Class B drugs. Two people were arrested and enquiries continue.
Working with our communities
PCSO Bannatyne and PCSO 6571 teamed up with PA Housing around Dover House, knocking on doors, speaking with residents and listening to their concerns.
Untaxed vehicles removed
PCSO 6571 and PCSO Pilgrim dealt with vehicles that had been SORN or untaxed for several months, resulting in vehicles being seized.
Safeguarding vulnerable people
PC Wilson and PC Carpenter attended an address following concerns that a vulnerable person may have been a victim of cuckooing. Safeguarding measures and support from partner agencies have now been put in place.
Vehicle theft investigation
PCSO Bannatyne has been assisting City Response with CCTV and identification work following the theft of a motor vehicle. A man was arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries continue.
ASB hotspot patrols
PCSO Pilgrim and PCSO 6571 were patrolling St George’s Churchyard when an incident escalated and officers were assaulted and threatened with a glass bottle. The NC66 team quickly responded to assist, and a man was arrested.
Tackling persistent offending
PC Wilson and PC Carpenter have been working towards a Criminal Behaviour Order for an individual whose behaviour has been causing harm within the beat area.
Supporting our colleagues
PCSO Becs swapped beat duties for the day to lend a helping hand on the front desk.
Graduation week!
The team have also been providing additional patrols around Curve while DMU students celebrate their graduations. Congratulations to everyone graduating!
PCSOs across the beat have been carrying out CCTV trawls and collecting footage as part of enquiries into vehicles being broken into around the city.
If you’re visiting the city, remember to leave your vehicle secure and keep valuables out of sight, or better still, take them with you. Don’t give thieves an easy opportunity.
