Dear residents, 

Following our recent message regarding distraction burglary advice, we would like to bring to your attention that On Tuesday 15th September 2026, around early midday, an unknown male attended victim’s home address in E9 and he managed to gain access to the premises under the false pretence of performing water pipe works on behalf of the local Council.

Although nothing was stolen from the property and the incident took place within a minute, the emotional impact can be deep and varied. 

This behaviour seems to pick up this time of the year, and we are strongly advising our residents not to let in unexpected visitors.

As previously stated, if you have any doubt, you should ring the company they say they are from independently. Never ring the number given by the caller but instead locate the phone number from another trusted source including phonebook or directory enquiries.
