I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Nuisance Vehicle use, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Yesterday Lisburn City and Rural NPT assisted by our colleagues in LPT, conducted a day of action around Road safety and Escooter use. We concentrated largely on Rural areas after receiving complaints from the public around escooters in areas such as Maghaberry and Glenavy amongst others. A number of young persons were spoken to and brought home to parents with education being given around the legalities of these vehicles and their use. We will continue to put focus on this area of concern, if you have any areas you would like us to be aware of please let us know and will endeavour to be pro active within those areas going forward. The use of motorised vehicles such as scramblers, go-peds, buzz boards, quads and mini-motos as a leisure activity can be both exciting and fun, however, as with most outdoor activities the use of these vehicles can in some circumstances be dangerous. E-scooters and the Law E-scooters, scramblers, go-peds, buzz boards, quads and mini-motos do not generally comply with construction and use legislation and vehicle standards so are therefore, restricted to off-road use only.
