🚗 Parking Considerately on Our Streets 🚗

As many of our communities continue to grow, particularly on newer housing developments, we would like to remind residents about the importance of safe and considerate parking.

Many newer estates have narrower roads and limited parking spaces, which can sometimes create difficulties for residents, emergency services, refuse collection vehicles, and other road users.

✅ Where can you park?

On public roads where there are no parking restrictions in place.

In designated parking bays.

On your own driveway or allocated parking space where available.

❌ Please avoid parking:

Opposite another parked vehicle where it significantly narrows the road.

Across dropped kerbs, driveways, or garage entrances.

On pavements where pedestrians, wheelchair users, or pushchairs may be forced into the road.

Near junctions where visibility for drivers and pedestrians is reduced.

🚒 Leave Enough Room A good rule of thumb is to ensure larger vehicles such as fire engines, ambulances, bin lorries, and delivery vehicles can safely pass through. If they cannot get through, residents may face delays in emergencies and essential services may be disrupted.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Be Courteous to Your Neighbours Remember:

There is generally no ownership of parking spaces on public roads.

Parking directly outside your own property is not always possible.

Consider the impact your parking may have on nearby residents.

If possible, park with consideration for visibility, access, and the overall flow of traffic.
