Bungay – Motorcyclist dies in hospital following collision

A motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Bungay last week has died.

Police were called to the B1062 Flixton Road by the Fire Service just before 3:45pm on Thursday, 17 September, following reports of a three-vehicle collision near the dairy farm, involving an HGV, a Volvo box van and a Yamaha motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s, was airlifted to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment where he sadly died on Saturday, 19 September.

Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Connor Young from Brampton, near Beccles.

Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses - including any other motorists driving in the area around the time of the collision with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, who are asked to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
