Vehicle seized in Chapel

 Don’t Drive in Chapel When We’re on Duty... 

One driver found out the hard way today that cutting corners on the road can be an expensive mistake.

Whilst on patrol in Chapel-en-le-Frith, officers stopped a vehicle and checks revealed the driver was driving without valid insurance and only held a provisional driving licence, meaning they were not entitled to drive the vehicle in the circumstances.

As a result, the vehicle was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, and the driver will be reported for the offences and prosecuted accordingly.

A reminder to all road users:

 Make sure you have valid insurance.
Ensure you hold the correct licence for the vehicle you are driving.

 Check that you are complying with any licence conditions.

If not, you could find yourself explaining your actions to the courts and looking for a lift home!

And for anyone tempted to take the risk, here's a bit of friendly advice:

 Don't drive in Chapel when we're on duty... because if you're driving illegally, there's a good chance we'll find you!
