Neighbourhood officer update

A summary of just some of the things your neighbourhood officers have been up to recently in Dereham.

We can’t share updates of every call we go to or every patrol we take but hopefully this gives you an idea of what the team are up to.

We’ve been patrolling through the town centre as regularly as we can (even in the rain last week!) and were pleased to see the local action partnership cleaning up the signs when we popped in on Saturday morning. As well as popping into Hockering coffee morning we’ve also been responding to calls about anti-social behaviour and retail theft. One offender was arrested and charged to court for three offences of retail theft (he’s been bailed and banned from Dereham ahead of his court date).

As always, please keep reporting any concerns or incidents to us:

999 – emergencies, threats to life and crimes in progress.

101 – non-emergencies – we know there can be a long wait sometimes as this line gets very busy.

Norfolk.police.uk (Report it) – this should be your first port of call for non-emergencies, anti-social behaviour etc. We know there are some people who can’t use online services but if you can then it frees up the phonelines for those who can. We know the form isn’t super user friendly but we do have to follow the government guidelines.

Norfolk.police.uk (Live Chat) – a great option if you need info or advice.

Norfolk.police.uk (Find Your Area) – this gives you a contact form direct to your local neighbourhood team. It’s great for telling us about longer term issues, providing intelligence, following up issues or general local chat. This option will get you a response from your local officers within 72hrs.

Email your SNT – this works much the same as the ‘find your area’ option but is only monitored when the team are working

Crimestoppers – perfect if you want to tell us something but want to remain anonymous. There are telephone and website options.
