COMMUNITY ROADWATCH SPEED ENFORCEMENT

Good Morning,

We wanted to share our results from our speed enforcement from Community Road watch which we completed yesterday afternoon on Newlands Road, Lancaster.

You tell us that speeding is a concern in that area so in response we have completed some speed enforcement.

During that time we captured 20 vehicles exceeding the speed limit by over 5 mph or more.

The majority of vehicles were exceeding the speed limit by close to ten miles an hour over the limit and one vehicle was travelling at 23 mph over the speed limit. (Yes you read that correctly). 

The stopping distance at travelling at 43 mph in a 20 mph zone is approximately 89 feet compared to a stopping distance of 44 feet travelling at 20 mph.
