Arrest made in relation to shed burglaries.

Officers from the Oldham Neighbourhood Crime Team have arrested a suspect in connection with a series of shed burglaries and attempted shed burglaries that occurred during the early hours of 21 September 2026.

Although an arrest has been made, enquiries remain ongoing and we are asking residents to assist us.

If you have CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage covering the period between 0100hrs and 0430hrs, please check your recordings and contact police with any relevant footage, quoting the incident reference above.

We also urge residents to check their sheds, garages and outbuildings for any signs of burglary or attempted burglary. The offender's method involved damaging locks and removing hinges or fixings to gain entry.

If you discover that you have been a victim and have not yet reported it, please do so via 101, GMP's website, or by contacting your local neighbourhood team.

✅ Ensure sheds, garages, gates, doors and windows are locked and secure.
✅ Secure bicycles, power tools and other valuable items.
✅ Consider additional security measures such as alarms, security lighting and quality locks.
✅ Keep a record of serial numbers and mark valuable property where possible.
