Whilst on patrol last night, Atherton's Area Officer, PC Clarke, and PCSO Alani spotted two mopeds travelling together, one carrying both a rider and a pillion passenger. The officers followed the mopeds, but the riders chose to make off from police. Following a search of the area, both vehicles were located abandoned on Tyldesley Old Road, Atherton. After carrying out a number of checks, PC Clarke confirmed that both mopeds had been reported stolen. Thanks to the officers' proactive patrols and swift action, the stolen vehicles have now been recovered and can hopefully be returned to their rightful owners.
