Vehicle crime can happen anywhere, but there are simple steps you can take to reduce your chances of becoming a victim.

✅ Always lock your vehicle, even if you are only leaving it for a few moments.

✅ Remove all valuables from sight, including bags, wallets, mobile phones, and sat navs.

✅ Never leave keys in the vehicle or unattended in public places.

✅ Park in well-lit areas and, where possible, choose locations covered by CCTV.

✅ Use additional security measures such as steering wheel locks, pedal locks, or tracking devices.

✅ Double-check that windows, sunroofs, and doors are fully closed and secured.

✅ Keep keyless vehicle keys away from doors and windows at home and consider using a signal-blocking pouch.

If you see suspicious activity around vehicles in your area, report it to police. In an emergency, always call 999.
