Local Safer Neighbourhood Officers working with Proactive Teams

Good afternoon

I wanted to share with you the great work the Greenwich and Woolwich Safe Neighbourhood Teams undertook on Tuesday 22nd September 2026.

During their late turn shift they worked with the South East Proactive Policing Team to carry out joint plain clothes patrols on foot, in vehicles and on pedal cycles. 

They carried out 35 stop searches on individuals throughout their tasked areas including Woolwich, Greenwich, New Cross and Deptford. 

This operational deployment was deisgned to detect and deter crime the followign crime types:

Robbery

Theft 

Drug supply

Driving offences

Possession of offensive weapons

Burglary

The team worked hard throughout the evening, gathering intelligience which can help us tackle these crime types moving forward.
