Yesterday evening, Thursday 24th September, officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have been on patrol in the Halliwell area of Bolton when they sighted a vehicle on Mortfield Lane.  2 occupants of the vehicle were detained and searched under S23 Misuse of Drugs Act. One male was found in to be in possession of a large quantity of Class A drugs and an 18 inch long machete was also located inside the vehicle. 

Enquiries established that the vehicle was on cloned plates, and was seized under S165a Road Traffic Act. 

A 19-year-old male was arrested and later charged for Possession with Intent to Supply Class A drugs (Heroin and Crack Cocaine) and Possession of an Offensive Weapon. The male has been remanded in Police custody to appear at court tomorrow.
