On 23 September, PC Nel and PC Hancock attended Cornwall College in Newquay for an informal drop-in session with students who are preparing to begin or continue their university studies. The event provided an opportunity to chat with students about a range of safety topics, including drugs and alcohol, spiking, illegal vapes, and the use of e-scooters. University life is an exciting new chapter, but it is important to look after yourself and your friends. Plan your journeys home, keep an eye on your drinks, be aware of your surroundings when out at night, and never feel pressured into doing something you are uncomfortable with. If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts and seek help. Looking out for one another and making sensible decisions can go a long way towards ensuring your university experience is both enjoyable and safe.
