Neighbourhood Officers Provide Reassurance Ahead of Stockport County Fixture

Local Neighbourhood Officers were out on patrol this afternoon along Castle Street, Edgeley, ahead of the Stockport County home fixture, providing a visible police presence and offering reassurance to residents, visitors, and local businesses.

I was joined by MP Navendu Mishra as we spent time speaking with a number of businesses on Castle Street and within the surrounding area. These conversations provided an opportunity to hear first-hand about any concerns affecting the local community and to discuss the issues that matter most to those who live and work in Edgeley.

Match days bring thousands of people into the area and, whilst they are generally positive occasions, they can place additional demands on local businesses and residents. Our presence today was aimed at ensuring that those attending the game could enjoy a safe and welcoming visit, while also supporting businesses and helping staff feel safe and confident whilst at work.

Maintaining strong relationships with local businesses and community partners is a key part of neighbourhood policing. By listening to concerns, offering advice, and being visible in the community, we can work together to tackle local issues and keep Edgeley a safe place for everyone.
