High-Visibility Patrols in Barkingside & Little Gearies

Today, officers from the Barkingside Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) conducted high-visibility patrols across Barkingside Ward and Little Gearies, engaging with residents and listening to concerns affecting the local community.

During our patrols, residents raised concerns regarding anti-social behaviour, cannabis use, and suspected drug-related activity. These concerns are being taken seriously, and officers will continue to conduct targeted patrols, monitor identified locations, and take positive action where offences are identified.

We also followed up on concerns recently reported by a resident through Met Engage regarding a distressing incident on 21 September 2026, where an unknown individual repeatedly knocked on the window of a family home late at night while children were inside the property. Understandably, this incident caused significant alarm and distress to the family and highlights the importance of reporting suspicious behaviour to police.

As shown in the photographs, today's patrols were conducted during the daytime; however, Barkingside SNT will continue to provide a visible presence through both early and late-shift patrols. We recognise that concerns around anti-social behaviour, cannabis use, and suspicious activity often occur during the evening hours, and our patrols will continue to target these times to reassure residents, deter criminality, and identify those responsible for causing nuisance within our community.

We remain committed to listening to residents, acting on the information provided, and addressing issues that matter most to the local community. Intelligence supplied by residents plays a vital role in helping us identify problem locations and deploy resources effectively.
