Road Safety and Speed Limits

Hello Dunfermline!

I hope everyone is keeping well. As the nights draw in, and the days shorten, I would to take the opportunity to speak about Road Safety.

We're starting to see an increase in reports of speeding across our City. Can I ask that everyone is courteous and respectful of not only other road users, but also local speed limits. There have also been a number of recent and upcoming speed limit changes across Dunfermline, and I would also ask that everybody keeps up to date with these changes.

We've recently been carrying out proactive speed checks across the area, and have provided corrective advice where required. Autumn often brings stormy, wet, and windy weather which has a considerable and sometimes unpredictable impact on road conditions and breaking distances. 

Ease off the accelerator, drive according to both road and weather conditions, and arrive safely.
