Halloween is Just Around the Corner – Let's Keep It Safe and Spook-tacular!

With Halloween fast approaching, we're expecting plenty of witches, ghosts, superheroes and monsters to be out enjoying the evening.

If you're planning on taking part in Trick-or-Treating, a little consideration can help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable night.

For families and young people:

Stick to well-lit areas and travel in groups where possible.

Carry a torch or wear reflective clothing so you can be seen by drivers.

Only visit homes where you're welcome and respect residents who choose not to take part.

Be mindful of roads and traffic, especially when crossing in the dark.

Parents should know where their children are and what time they'll be home.

For residents:

If you'd like to welcome Trick-or-Treaters, consider putting a pumpkin or decoration outside.

If you'd prefer not to take part, don't worry, most children and parents will respect your choice.

Keep pathways clear and well lit if you're expecting visitors.

Halloween should be about fun, not fear. Please be respectful of your neighbours, avoid behaviour that could be seen as anti-social, and remember that what may seem like harmless fun to some can be upsetting or intimidating to others.

Let's work together to make this Halloween a safe, enjoyable and community-minded event for everyone.
