Here’s a quick update on drugs dealing crime in your area, please be reassured that we’re taking this seriously and are here to help. Broad Green Safer Neighbourhood Team has three ward priorities set by the Broad Green ward panel, which is made up of residents living or working on Broad Green ward.
These priorities are: -
• ASB • Drugs • Violence Against Women and Girls.
The list below shows all the offences of Class A and B Possession of a Controlled Drug, which Broad Green Safer Neighbourhood Team, Emergency Response Teams and our Proactive Team have all been conducting positive stop and searches on Broad Green Ward.
When anyone is stopped in possession of a controlled drug, they are offered support services to help them. This is a voluntary scheme designed to help and support them with their addiction. If they decline the help, at least they are aware of the services being offered and at any time when they feel the time is right for change, we are happy to complete a referral.

I have added the road names, this is only purly because we get complaints that we are not seen along London Road or that we are not tackerling the drug users on London Road. The offences of Possession of a controlled drug is a proactive offence which means it is a police lead offence only.
Drug dealing is often linked with violent crime and the exploitation of vulnerable people, and discarded drug equipment can be a health risk and counts as antisocial behaviour. We’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals. We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. It forms a key part of our recently published ASB Action Plan. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible. If you have experienced drug dealing in your area, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org |
