Hello,
This week has been Motor Vehicle Intensification Week, which is a nationwide police operation targeting vehicle related crime. This includes targeting offenders who commit theft of motor vehicles, theft from motor vehicles and offences in relation to motor vehicles, such as speeding and other offences.
Your local policing team from Mawneys, Marshalls & Rise Park and Havering-Atte-Bower have been out everyday this week conducting various operations around Collier Row. Over the course of the week, we were conducting Speed Enforcement checks, licence and insurances checks alongside patrols of car parks and hotspot locations where vehicles have been targeted.
We stopped over 40 cars over the course of the week. From this, we were pleased to see that all drivers were adhering to the speed limits during our Speed Enforcement checks. Only 2 arrests were made by drivers identified to be wanted and of the 2 arrested, 1 driver was also reported for driving not in accordance with a driving licence and not in possession of insurance.
We have had positive feedback and engagement from those who we stopped, and we are pleased to see that many of the drivers that come through Collier Row were abiding by the law and highway code.
We also held a Crime Prevention Stall outside Tesco, Collier Row on Tuesday which had a large turnout of over 60 people stopping to engage with our officers. We offered crime prevention advice on how to keep your vehicles safe, the legalities over E-Bikes and E-Scooters and also other crime advice such Burglary prevention advice. It was a pleasure to talk with so many residents who all shared their concerns and were happy to hear the crime prevention advice we had to offer.
You will continue to see your local officers conducting random vehicle stop checks and speed enforcement checks in the future.
If you have any concerns or issues you would like to raise, please let us know. The more information we can get, the more we can do to make your streets safer.
