DRINK DRIVER ARRESTED FOLLOWING PROACTIVE POLICE STOP |
||
|
Dear Residents.
Whilst on patrol in Saddleworth tonight, acting on information received, I stopped a vehicle in relation to a road traffic matter.
During conversations with the driver, I detected the smell of alcohol on his breath. The driver was required to provide a roadside breath test, which he subsequently failed.
As a result, the male driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and conveyed to custody for further investigation.
Road safety remains a key priority for the Saddleworth and Lees Neighbourhood Policing Team. Drink driving puts lives at risk and we will continue to take proactive action against those who choose to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.
I hope this arrest provides reassurance that we are actively responding to intelligence, stopping suspected offenders, and taking robust action where offences are identified.
Thank you for your continued support.
Regards
PS 1650 Andy Holian
