Nights Are Drawing In – Protect Your Property

As the nights are drawing in, now is a good time to think about your home and property security.

✅ Lock doors and windows
✅ Use outdoor lighting or timer switches to make your property look occupied
✅ Keep valuables out of sight from windows and in vehicles
✅ Secure sheds, garages and outbuildings with good quality locks
✅ Remove keys from vehicles and never leave them unattended with the engine running
✅ Consider CCTV, video doorbells or other security measures

Opportunist thieves often take advantage of longer hours of darkness, but a few simple precautions can greatly reduce the risk of becoming a victim.

If you see anything suspicious in your neighbourhood, report it to Suffolk Police online or call 101.

Always dial 999 in an emergency.
