Anti Social Behaviour Concern Update on RUISLIP HIGH STREET

Anti Social Behaviour Concern Update on RUISLIP HIGH STREET

Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents.

Dear Residents,

Officers have been carrying out additional patrols on Ruislip High Street as part of Operation Octarine, focused on tackling anti-social behaviour and helping to keep the area safe and welcoming for everyone.

During these patrols, officers have been engaging with local businesses, speaking with residents, conducting vehicle checks and taking positive action where concerns have been identified. While the vast majority of people visit the High Street to shop, meet friends or enjoy a coffee, a small number have been reminded that behaviour causing nuisance or disruption will not be tolerated.

Recently, officers have dispersed multiple groups of youths involved in anti-social behaviour, including incidents of disorder and reports of small fires being set in local open spaces. Officers have also dealt with anti-social behaviour at local businesses, providing strong words of advice and ensuring those responsible left the area.

Anti-social behaviour can have a significant impact on residents, businesses and visitors alike. We understand the concerns raised by the community and remain committed to maintaining a visible presence, addressing issues proactively and taking action where necessary.

We would like to thank everyone who has spoken with our officers and reported concerns. Your information helps us identify hotspots and direct patrols to the areas where they are needed most.

Operation Octarine will continue, and our officers will remain out and about across the ward. After all, the only drama we'd like to see on Ruislip High Street is someone discovering the queue for their favourite coffee shop is longer than expected.

Thank you for your continued support.

Across London we’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals - including with new tech like live facial recognition cameras, drones and e-bikes.

Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website.
