Dear Resident individuals Copilot said: Thank You, Penzance
We would like to thank members of the public for continuing to report incidents of anti-social behaviour in Penzance town centre. Your reports provide us with valuable information and intelligence, helping us identify issues, understand patterns of offending, and direct our policing activity where it is needed most.
We know that drug dealing and associated criminality remain a concern for many people in the town centre. Please be assured that we are taking this seriously. Intelligence gathered from your reports is helping us build a clearer picture of those involved and enables us to take positive action against individuals who are causing harm within our community.
We are also working closely with a specialist team within Devon & Cornwall Police who liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service to pursue stronger outcomes and more meaningful repercussions for those who repeatedly offend in our town. Tackling persistent offenders remains a priority, and the information you provide is crucial in supporting this work.
Please continue to report anti-social behaviour and crime to us. Every report matters, and the information you share genuinely makes a difference. What may seem like a small piece of information can often form part of a wider intelligence picture that helps us take action.
We're also pleased to see the continued success of SentrySIS, which is being used by many of our town centre businesses. This platform enables businesses to communicate quickly with one another, share information about emerging issues, and report crime with ease. The system is helping to strengthen partnerships and improve the flow of information between businesses and the police.
Penzance town centre business owners, the local community, partner agencies and police all work hard together to keep our town safe and welcoming. By continuing to work in partnership, sharing information and supporting one another, we can tackle the issues that matter most and make a real difference to our town centre.
Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to report concerns to us. Together, we are making a difference.
Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which requires input and action from more than just the police. The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 aims to put victims first, giving power to local people and enabling professionals to find the best solutions for their local area. The act provides the police, local authorities and other local agencies with flexible tools and powers that they can use to respond quickly and effectively to antisocial behaviour. These include: - civil injunctions.
- criminal behaviour orders.
- public spaces protection orders.
- community protection notices.
- dispersal powers.
- closure powers.
The act also includes measures such as the Community Remedy and antisocial behaviour case reviews which empower victims and communities to have a say in the outcome of their reports and hold agencies to account. If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
