Community Update: Swift Action Leads to Arrests Following Vehicle Thefts |

Following a number of reports over the weekend relating to vehicles being tampered with and items being stolen from inside parked cars, officers from the Ashford Neighbourhood Task Force acted quickly to identify those responsible. On Monday, our local PCSOs attended the affected area and held a street briefing, engaging with members of the community and visiting local households. During these conversations, officers were able to offer crime prevention advice, provide reassurance, and gather further information to assist the investigation. As a result of these enquiries, CCTV footage was identified which contained clear images of the suspects. On Tuesday, officers from the Neighbourhood Task Force reviewed the footage and, using their extensive local knowledge of the area and known offenders, were able to swiftly identify two suspects. Both males were subsequently arrested at local addresses and are being dealt with in relation to theft offences. This outcome highlights the importance of communities working closely with their local policing teams. The information provided by residents, combined with local CCTV opportunities and officers' knowledge of the area, enabled us to quickly identify and arrest those believed to be responsible. We would like to thank everyone who spoke with officers, shared information, and supported the investigation. Your assistance plays a vital role in helping us keep Ashford safe. Please continue to report suspicious behaviour and ensure vehicles are locked, valuables are removed from sight, and any available CCTV or doorbell footage is retained and shared with police when incidents occur. If anyone has any further information relating to these incidents, or believes they may have captured relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage, please do not hesitate to contact Kent Police. Even information which may seem insignificant could assist our ongoing enquiries. Together, through strong community partnerships and proactive neighbourhood policing, we can continue to tackle crime and keep our communities safer. | ||
