Trentham and Hanford Newsletter - Road Traffic Collision Longton Rd, advice for dog owners to prevent injury to those delivering post and Police Street Surgeries

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you all are having a good week.

Road Traffic Collision – Longton Road.

On 05/10/26 at approximately 19:17 a road traffic collision occurred between two vehicles on Longton Road, between Paddock Rise and Brinsley Ave.

One of the vehicles involved failed to stop and left the location.

If anyone has any CCTV, Ring doorbell, dash camera footage or any other information that may help our enquiries, please call 101 quoting incident 828 of 05/10/26 – thank you.

Dog bite incident

Recently we became aware of an incident whereby a deliver driver had their hand badly injured following a dog taking hold of it as they were posting a card through the letterbox.

I therefore wanted to send some information out, to raise awareness and to help make it safer for those delivering post.

If you do own a dog, even if it is friendly, it’s worth investing in a letterbox cage or an outside letterbox.

Some very helpful information can be found on the Royal Mail website, where this guidance and a useful video to watch too.

If you could please share this information with anyone you know who is a dog owner - thank you
