A shoplifter was arrested in Bingham on Monday 5th of October by an off duty Nottinghamshire Police Inspector after committing a theft from Boots on Eaton Place , it transpired after he was detained and conveyed to custody by Response officers that he was also wanted for two thefts from Sainsbury at Colwick in September 2026. Following being interviewed and processed by the prisoner handling team at the Nottingham Custody Suite he was charged with four shop thefts and resisting a Police Constable in the execution of their duties. Following being remanded to court they were sentenced the following morning to 10 weeks custody suspended for 12 months and a £200 compensation order.
Police Constables from the Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Team attended an attempt burglary in Stanton on the Wolds on Monday 5th of October 2026 it is believed that the offender was disturbed by a pet dog barking as the occupants heard the dog barking overnight and found the damage to a ground floor window at the rear of the property in the morning.
On Tuesday 6th of October the NPT were called to a slightly unusual report of loose pigs chasing a dog walker in Edwalton a search of the area did not find any pigs or other animals resembling Sus scrofa in the area.
Along with calls for service officers are continuing when resources allow to target on-going problems such as electric scooter/ motorcycles, car cruising and anti-social behaviour on the A52 and at the tram park and ride.
