The Met is cracking down on street crime, including drug-related activity and street drinking.
But we know there is more to do. This week, our neighbourhood team has continued targeted patrols across our ward’s hotspot locations, focusing our activity in line with local ward priorities and the concerns raised by our communities.
As part of this work, we have issued numerous Community Protection Warnings and ASB warnings to inconsiderate motorbike riders whose behaviour has been affecting local residents. Our proactive patrols and intelligence gathering also contributed to a suspected drug dealer being stopped and searched. The vehicle involved was subsequently seized after the driver was found to have no valid driving licence.
We will continue carrying out high-visibility patrols across our identified hotspot areas, engaging with residents and businesses, gathering intelligence and working with our partners to tackle the issues that matter most to our community.
We’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams across London, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals, including with new technology such as live facial recognition cameras, drones and e-bikes.
