Custodial Sentence for Prolific Shoplifter

A prolific shoplifter known for repeatedly targeting One Stop in Penge High St., has been sentenced after being found guilty of 13 shop thefts and 13 breaches of his Criminal Behaviour Order.

Having only recently been released from prison, Charlie LEWIS returned to the same area and continued offending at the same premises.   Working in partnership with the store, local officers painstakingly reviewed more than 100 CCTV clips, securing evidence that led to 26 charges.

He was sentenced to 16 months for theft and 20 months for breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order, to run concurrently.

A great result by local officers which sends a clear message to any offender in Penge that ward officers will work in partnership with businesses and tenaciously review all evidence to get custodial sentences at court!
