NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING AND PREVENTION UPDATE.

Monthly Community Update from Sgt 488 Phil Woodland

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. As we move through October, I wanted to share a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our local area, what’s coming up, and how we’re working together to keep our community safe and thriving.

🔍 Local Priorities

Our current focus areas include:

High volume of thefts from shops in Aberystwyth Town.

Community Concerns have been raised in relation to drug activity and associated ASB in the Penparcau.

A range of anti-social behaviour incidents have been reported in Talybont.

Additionally:

Speeding vehicles in and around locals schools.

Youth engagement and Diversion activities

We’re continuing patrols and targeted operations in these areas, and welcome any feedback or concerns you’d like to raise.

🤝 Partnership Working

We’ve been working closely with:

Local Shops – to set up the Steel and Be Banned scheme (SABB)

Local Patrols with Trading Standards, Housing Officers, to offer advice and support

These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs.
