Multiple Burglaries in the North Craven Area Overnight 6th and 7th October 2026

Multiple Burglaries in the North Craven Area Overnight 6th and 7th October 2026

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Residential Burglary, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Some good news and some bad news!
The bad news is that North Craven has suffered 10 burglaries and attempted burglaries. These have ranged from house, shed and farm buildings, and thefts of vehicles including a quad bike, and high value tools.
Now for the good news!!
Most of the property has been recovered, with the exception of one car.
Three males have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing to arrest the others involved. A vehicle driven by the offenders has been seized.
The arrests are due to excellent work by officers on the night responding to numerous calls from witnesses and victims. One male was arrested fleeing from a vehicle, one was found in the area the following day, and another was arrested out of area due to enquiries made.
Police are requesting any information, cctv or doorbell cameras, or further reports which were not made at the time.
Please be reassured that burglaries are rare in our area, but we must not be complacent. We are working hard to bring all those responsible to justice. The use of simple deterrents such as doorbell cameras, and trackers for vehicles and quads can really assist us in these types of incidents.
We understand the devastating impact burglaries and the fear of such events have on people and we will do everything possible to bring those responsible to justice.
If you have any further information regarding the events of the night of 6th into the 7th October 2026, please call 101 and quote the master log 12260197007
Please continue to report anything suspicious, with your help we can help prevent and detect crime.

Burglary is a particularly invasive crime that can have a lasting impact on victims. If you have been a victim and need support and help, you should have been offered the services of Victim Support. You may have declined at the time, or not noticed the offer, but can refer yourself at any time by either calling 0808 168 9111 or visiting their website www.victimsupport.org.uk.

Burglars do not want to get caught, so taking action to make your home or business premises safe and less attractive to thieves can go a long way to reducing the risk.

Not all advice, or security products recommended are the same, or necessarily fit for purpose.
