Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Grange Drive, this occurred on Thursday 8th October at approximately 2000hrs and the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 🚨 Community Alert - Burglary Between the times and dates stated above, unknown suspect(s) gained entry to a property by damaging the lock barrel on the front door. Once inside, an untidy search was carried out in three bedrooms. At this time, it is unknown whether any items have been stolen. 🏠 Crime Prevention Advice: • Ensure all doors are fitted with quality anti-snap locks where possible. • Consider installing a doorbell camera or CCTV system. • Keep valuables and important documents out of sight. • Use timer switches on lights when away from home. • Report any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood to the police.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between 08/10/2026 around 2000hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
As a precaution, please check that your door locks are secure and correctly fitted. We recommend anti-snap locks with a 3 Star rating, certified to either TS007 or SS312 standards. These locks are available from many locksmiths and security providers. Whilst we do not wish to alarm residents, it is always worthwhile reviewing your home security and reporting anything that seems suspicious. If you have any information regarding this or any other burglary, please contact us on 101. Thank you for helping to keep our communities safe.
