Off-Road Motorbikes and High-Powered Electric Bikes – Please Report It

We continue to receive concerns from residents about the nuisance and danger caused by off-road motorbikes and high-powered electric bikes being ridden illegally in our communities.

These vehicles can cause significant issues, including anti-social behaviour, damage to land and public spaces, risks to pedestrians, and danger to other road users. They are often used in parks, footpaths, bridleways, open spaces, and residential areas where they should not be ridden.

We know that some residents may feel there is little point reporting these incidents, particularly if they believe the riders will be gone before police arrive. However, every report is important.

Information provided by the public helps us build an intelligence picture of who is involved, where incidents are happening, and when they are occurring. This allows us to identify hotspots, plan targeted operations, deploy officers more effectively, and use powers available to us to take action against offenders.

A significant amount of work is ongoing to tackle this issue, but police cannot take effective action without information from the community. Even if an incident may seem minor or you do not think immediate action can be taken, your report could be the missing piece of information that helps us identify those responsible.
